Run for more
Juice and Paper Jam had just completed a 200 mile overnight road relay. They immediately knew that a shorter distance race could be a great way to introduce runners to the relay format. But where? And how?

How it started.
Steadfast Relays officially launched in 2025, but the story goes back to the fall of 2017, when Simon Froese (Paper Jam) and Matt Porth (Juice) completed a 200 mile relay through Mountain Roads of North and South Carolina.
They loved the relay format, but wanted a way to introduce the relay style race to their friends who may be intimidated by a 200 mile overnight adventure.
The initial goal was simply to create a gateway race where runners of various distance abilities could have a taste of what team relay running is about, at a fraction of the time/cost.
They got a map, did some driving (and running), and came up with the Dam to Dam 100k, Lake Murray to Lake Greenwood.

The first Dam to Dam
The inaugural Dam to Dam 100K Relay on February 24th, 2018 was true “test run.” Fourteen teams from F3 Lexington, F3 Lake Murray, and F3 Saluda showed up and ran. For FREE.
The race was a lot of fun and expectations were exceeded. So, the vision shifted towards making the race bigger and better.
The Dam to Dam has been running, growing, and giving back ever since.

Instead of becoming a for-profit venture, they decided to use the race to support local charities serving the communities around the race, and give back to the churches that provided exchange zones along the route.

Meanwhile, in Scandinavia...
Having experienced the excitement and mission of the Dam to Dam Relay, FiA Einstein, encouraged her friend ToTo (AKA Laura, whose hometown is Norway, SC) to create a relay race that would raise support and awareness for Three Crosses Outreach — Norway’s local non-profit offering kids camps, community meals, summer lunch programs for kids, mentoring, other types of family assistance, and more.
That idea became the SCandinavian Relay — running through the charming small towns of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway, South Carolina.
The first Scandinavian Run took place in early 2024 and was a great success.

How it's going...
In 2025, the Scandinavian Relay joined forces with the Dam to Dam team to become the Steadfast Relay Series AND launch a third race, the Old Mill Marathon Relay.
Steadfast is on a mission to “run for more” and we hope to see you out there.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
